Topic:             Unit Ten  This is his body.

Teaching Objectives:

1. To enable pupils to master the new words and useful expressions

2. To enable pupils to describe the parts of body in different situations.

Teaching key points:

1. Words arms ,  eyes ,   mouth ,  nose ,  foot ( feet )

2. Sentences  Touch your nose.

Open your mouth.

Close your eyes.

              This is his …..    These are his ….

Teaching difficult points:

    1. Using “This is his(her) …”and “These are his(her)…”to describe the body

    2. The plural form of “ foot” --- “feet”

Teaching aids: CAI, packet ,balls, word cards, picture, animal toys

Teaching procedure:

I. Warming up

1.      Greeting and introducing myself

2.      Singing English song  “ Head , ears , legs and hands”

II. Revision

  T: What’s this ? Is this a basketball ? ( Showing “head” )

  S: Yes. / No, it’s an orange. 

  T: No, I don’t think so. Ah, I see. It’s a head. ( Sticking it on the board )

  T: ( Showing “ears” ) What are these ? (Pasting them)

  S1: They are ears.

  T: ( Showing “ legs” ) What are these? (Pasting them )

  S: They are legs.

  T: ( Showing “hands” ) What are these? (Pasting them )

  S: They are hands.

  T: Look , this is a body. But it’s not completed. Who can help me finish 

it?

  T: So today we’ll go no learning Unit Ten This is his body. Please follow me . ( Reading the title)

 

III. Presentation and practice  

1. arm ---- arms  

   T: Oh, look here. ( Showing “arm” ) This is my arm . “Arm.”

    ( 带读, 开火车, 板书, 拼读 )

   T: One arm, two arms . Please follow my sentence and do the action.

       Arms, arms, touch your arms.

  2. eye----eyes

   T: Look! I have something in my pocket. What are these?

   S: They’re oranges. …

   T: No! Look, they’re balls.  It’s my show time. ( 抛球 )

   T: ( Stop) Look! What’s this?  It’s an eye.

    ( 带读, 开火车, 板书, 拼读 )

   T: One eye, two eyes. Please follow my sentence and do the action.

      Eyes, eyes, open your eyes .

      Eyes, eyes, close your eyes.

  3. mouth

 T: ( Showing a picture ) What’s this ?  It’s a mouth. Whose mouth is this?

   S: It’s the hippo’s mouth.

   T: Yes. “Mouth.”

     ( 带读, 开火车, 板书, 拼读 )

   T: Please follow my sentence and do the action.

      Mouth, mouth, touch your mouth .

      Mouth, mouth, open your mouth.

      Mouth, mouth, close your mouth.

  4. A game

       Ss listen to the teacher, and stand in a line, walk around the teacher’s desk and say the words after the teacher. Tell Ss when hearing the single form of the words, just keep the direction, but on hearing the plural form of the words, they must change quickly to the opposite direction.  (2 groups )

  5. nose

   T: ( Pointing to different parts of the body) These are my eyes. These are my arms. This is my mouth. Look! This is my nose. What color is it ?  “Nose.”

    ( 带读, 开火车, 板书, 拼读 )

  T: My nose, his nose, her nose. Make phrases like that.

    T: Please follow my sentence and do the action.

          Nose , nose, touch your nose.

   6. foot ---- feet  

    T: Look! This is my sock. Can you guess what’s in it? Who wants to touch it and make a guess.

    T: ( 从袜子里抽出 “foot’的单词条幅) These are letters. Can you spell it?

    S: F—o—o—t .

      ( 带读, 开火车, 板书, 拼读 )

    T: One foot, two feet. “ Feet.” ( 带读, 开火车, 板书, 拼读 )

    T: This is my foot. This is his foot. Make sentences like that.

    T: These are my feet. These are his feet. Make sentences like that.

  T: Please follow my sentence and do the action.

       Foot , foot, foot, feet, feet, feet, touch your feet.

      7.  Sentences

T: ( Showing sentences) Please follow me. ( Sticking them on the Bb)

T: Listen to the tape and repeat. (2 times)

8.          A game:  listen and do

T: Now let’s move our body. Listen and do.

    Please stand up.

    Touch your nose.  Open your mouth.  Close your eyes.

    Open your book.  Close your book .  Touch your feet.

    Don’t touch your feet. Swim.  Fly.

  T: Who wants to be the teacher? Come here and be a teacher. ( 2 Ss)

 

IV. Consolidation

 1. Listen and draw.

   T: Take out your paper. Now please listen and draw. And then write down the words.

      Draw an apple in his mouth.

      Draw a bird on his head.

      Draw two pencils under his foot.

 T: ( Show one student’s paper by projector) What’s this?

 S1: It’s an apple.

 T: Where is it?

 S1: It’s in his mouth.

 T goes on with the other two things.

 T: Look at the words. Is he right?

T: Let’s introduce him. ( 引导学生用This is his … These are his…进行介绍)

2. A game ( touch and guess )

  T: Today I’ve brought some animals from the zoo. But now I won’t tell you what they are. I want to invite three students to touch the animal and guess.

S1: (Touch the animal.) This is his ….

S: Yes. That is his… ( No, that is his … )

V. Challenging activities

  T: Boys and girls, we did lots of games. Are you happy?

  S: Yes.

  T: OK! Now look, who’s that man? Oh, it’ s a funny man. It’s an alien 外星人.Next time I’ll take you to the space. But before we go there, I want you to think about this ---“What do the people there look like?” Big eyes?  Very  short legs?… try to think . Now would you please draw a picture of a 外星人? And give a name to it, and after that show us the picture and introduce it to us.

  a. 学生做好后,教师和其中一名学生进行对话示范。

b. 小组间相互介绍。然后将设计好的外星人模样图贴在黑板上,

  c. 两名代表上台向全班介绍。
